From Disconnected Gates to Centralised Control: A Parkomax Success Story from A Large Labour Camp in Saudi Arabia

KSA’s one of the largest labour camps, a multi-zone residential and operational facility, houses thousands of employees, contractors, and visitors across geographically dispersed sites. The client needed to secure three physically separated access points – Gate 1 (entry and exit), Gate 2 (camp gate), and the dining area – while maintaining synchronized, real-time access control and complete visibility from a centralised management system.
Parkomax was selected to design and deploy a unified access management platform integrating Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), Ultra-high Frequency (UHF) RFID, and QR code-based dining access – all consolidated into a single cloud-hosted dashboard.
The result is a seamless, operator-friendly system that gives the security teams real-time visibility, automated reporting, and full audit traceability while eliminating manual entry errors and preventing misuse of camp facilities.

The Challenges Faced by The Labour Camp Before Parkomax Implementation

The labour Camp presented several complex, interrelated access control challenges that ruled out off-the-shelf solutions:
Three access points – Gate 1 at the entry and exit, Gate 2 inside the facility, and a dining area– operate in separate physical zones with no direct network link between them. Providing a unified view of access events across all three sites required a purpose-built cloud architecture.
The camp accommodates employees, contractors, visitors, and miscellaneous personnel (government officials, maintenance crews, police). Each group requires distinct verification methods, registration workflows, and access privileges – including time-bounded validity and real-time status control.
With over 1,700 registered tenants and regular visitor traffic, the system had to reliably distinguish between vehicles, prevent misreads from ANPR, and ensure UHF tag data was accurately captured and logged – even for multi-vehicle tenants.
The dining area needed to prevent unauthorized access and restrict individuals to one entry per meal period (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner), while giving administrators real-time count dashboards and automated daily reports.
Unannounced visitors required a fast, auditable spot-registration process with real-time admin approval – without disrupting gate flow or compromising security.

What Solution the Parkomax Implemented at The Site?

Parkomax deployed its cloud-hosted access management platform with customized modules for gate control, visitor management, and dining access, creating a single source of truth across all three sites.
Dining Area Access Management

As the main entry point for all personnel, Gate 1 required the most sophisticated setup. Parkomax configured two entry and two exit lanes (10-meter width) equipped with:
The secondary dashboard presents a split-screen view: the top half shows a large green YES or red NO access indicator, while the bottom half displays the visitor’s name, unique ID code, captured plate image, and recognized plate number giving security staff instant, unambiguous confirmation.
Camp Gate serves as a secondary checkpoint for personnel proceeding to residential areas. Its narrower 5-meter lanes are managed with:
A dedicated secondary display mirrors the Jewel Gate dashboard experience, ensuring consistent real-time visibility for Camp Gate operators.
All employees and contractors are registered as tenants with embedded UHF vehicle tags. The enrollment process captures:
The platform supports multiple vehicle registrations per tenant. Primary vehicles carry UHF tags; secondary vehicles are managed via ANPR-only access with operator verification ensuring flexibility without compromising audit trails.
Parkomax’s visitor management module handles three distinct visitor scenarios:
Visitors approved in advance by an admin are registered with full details including name, vehicle info, ID, company name, purpose of visit, and time-bounded access validity. Upon arrival, the operator confirms identity and manually opens the barrier. An automated email notification is sent to the admin confirming arrival.
Unannounced visitors are guided to the office at Gate 1 for spot registration. Operators capture name, vehicle number, and ID details, which trigger a real-time email notification to the admin for approval. The admin can instantly set the visitor status to Authorized or Denied, displayed prominently on both the entry portal and the secondary screen.
Government officials, police, and other authorized personnel can be registered on-the-spot or via pre-registration. Only minimal details are required (name, vehicle number, remarks, access duration), and all such entries are fully logged for audit purposes.

Dining Area Access Management

The dining facility uses QR code-based access via ZKTeco QR-600 readers integrated with a Hikvision DS-K2622X two-door controller. Two readers are deployed at the entry to handle peak-time volumes and eliminate queuing.
Key features of the dining module include:
Dining QR codes are only generated when both Camp Gate and Dining access are selected in the user profile – preventing unauthorized dining access by individuals without proper camp clearance.

Reporting And Automated Intelligence

Parkomax’s reporting engine provides Aramco with complete operational visibility without manual effort.
Automated Daily Reports (12:00 AM Email Delivery)
A consolidated report is automatically emailed to designated administrators every midnight, covering:
Live Admin Dashboard
The centralized Parkomax dashboard provides:

Key Outcomes And Business Value

Three disconnected locations managed from a single cloud dashboard, eliminating siloed operations and giving management full visibility.
UHF tag + ANPR dual-verification with operator edit capability ensures accurate vehicle identification and clean data logs.
Instant visitor approval, access deactivation, and status updates – all without needing physical presence at the gate.
One-entry-per-meal-slot enforcement with real-time counts prevents unauthorized access and over-utilization of dining resources.
Every access event, visitor registration, and admin action is logged and exportable – meeting the labour camp’s strict security and compliance requirements.
Automated midnight email reports deliver actionable summaries to up to 10 approvers – no manual compilation required.

Why Parkomax?

The labour camp deployment demonstrates Parkomax’s ability to address enterprise-scale, mission-critical access control requirements where no standard product fits. Key differentiators that made this project possible:

Turning Complexity into Confidence

Parkomax transformed a complex, multi-location access control environment into a single, intelligent security ecosystem. By integrating ANPR, UHF RFID, and QR code technologies on one cloud-based platform, the solution delivered real-time visibility, streamlined operations, and enhanced security across the entire labour camp. This deployment demonstrates Parkomax’s ability to build scalable, enterprise-grade access management solutions tailored to the unique operational demands of large residential, industrial, and workforce facilities.
